EXPRESS EXCITEMENT IN FRENCH

Learn how to say that you’re excited in French!

BONJOUR À TOUS!

Yesterday we complained a lot, today, let’s show a bit of gratitude and appreciation.

ON MONTRE QU’ON EST CONTENT, MERDE!

I’ll give you some new vocabulary and then I’ll test you on today and yesterday’s lessons.

Let’s start with the vocabulary that will allow you to express excitement in French.

C’EST CANON! – That’s beautiful!

ÇA DÉCHIRE! – That’s awesome

TROP BON! – when talking about food, it’s going to mean “very good”; when talking about something, it means “great!”

JE SUIS AUX ANGES – I’m in the clouds

JE SUIS RAVI(E) – I’m very happy/delighted

SUPER! – Super!

C’EST GÉANT/GÉNIAL! C’EST FORMIDABLE – That’s great

Talking about “formidable”, check out Belgian singer Stromae’s song entitled “FORMIDABLE” (Awesome). It’s pretty cool. The guy, very famous in French speaking countries, basically wandered in the streets of Brusells pretending to be drunk. The video was shot with hidden cameras and people’s reactions are priceless. You’ll find this music video on youtube. Great opportunity to discover Stromae if you guys don’t already know him.

IL EST ASSEZ INCROYABLE! C’EST UN GRAND TALENT!

Ok, time for you to get to work. Here are a few questions for you…

1. QUE DITES-VOUS QUAND VOUS ÊTES TRÈS HEUREUX?

… JE SUIS RAVI(E) OR JE SUIS AUX ANGES

2. LES EXAMENS DE FRANÇAIS VOUS SAOULENT, VOUS VOUS PLAIGNEZ EN DISANT…

…J’EN AI MARRE DES EXAMENS DE FRANÇAIS

3. COMMENT DIRE “That’s beautiful” in French?

…C’EST CANON

MERCI D’AVOIR ÉTÉ AU RENDEZ-VOUS, ET PUIS À DEMAIN!
