How to sound like an angry French person!

Transcript of the video

If you’re feeling angry or frustrated, this is the lesson for you. And if you’re feeling good, stay with me here to learn French words and expressions that you can use when you’ve actually had it with it all. It’s important to know how to let it all out when needed. Or to understand someone’s frustration, maybe… Yeah, ok, sometimes you don’t wanna know, fine.

Well, I’m going to teach you words related to LA COLÈRE ET LA FRUSTRATION progressively, going from nice proper vocabulary, to more familiar one, finishing off with a bang : with the worst slang words and swear words you can use when you’re angry. C’EST PARTI !

1. First things first, here are the nice and proper words you should know.

EN AVOIR MARRE DE / EN AVOIR ASSEZ DE= to be fed up with

SE METTRE EN COLÈRE = to get angry

J’en ai marre, je ne comprends pas bien l’allemand. Ça m’agace. C’est vrai c’est énervant à la fin. Oui, j’en ai assez de ne pas parler couramment. Ça vous pose un problème ? Moi en colère ? N’importe quoi. Mais c’est vous qui vous mettez en colère pour rien !

2. Next, SI LA MOUTARDE VOUS MONTE AU NEZ, you can use more familiar slang words. Not really rude, more familiar. Ok, fine, I’ll give you a couple of « not so nice » words too. Use them carefully, in a very familiar context only.

EN AVOIR RAS LE BOL = to have enough

CASSER LES PIEDS / LA TÊTE= to annoy (literally to break one’s feet or one’s head)

GONFLER = to annoy

And, getting slightly rude, I know you’re waiting for it.

MERDE = shit

EMMERDER = to annoy

S’EMMERDER = to be bored

Quoi, ça vous emmerde d’apprendre des listes de vocabulaire ? Vraiment, vous en avez ras-le-bol ? Dites tout de suite que je vous gonfle…

Ah merde, je vous casse la tête ? Mais comment vous croyez que vous allez apprendre le français ?

3. Ok, now let’s imagine, you’re out of control you’re so angry. All hell breaks loose, you’re letting it all out, like any good French native speaker ! Here are the bad ass words you’re gonna need. To be used only when you’re with friends or when you’re alone. Yeah, these are not pretty words. PARDON MAMAN.

FAIRE CHIER = to annoy

SE FAIRE CHIER = to be bored

LE BORDEL = the mess (this word originally means the whore house)

PUTAIN = fuck (refer to the other Ohlala video I’ve done and that you may already know and that will teach you everything about PUTAIN)

And let’s end with the rudest expression of them all :

PUTAIN, BORDEL DE MERDE = how can I translate that… ? Let’s illustrate it, you’ll figure it out.

Pourquoi tu fous le bordel là ? Depuis tout à l’heure tu me fais chier ? Quoi ? …

Non mais tu rigoles. Je t’emmerde !…

Putain, j’hallucine. Et toi tu crois pas que tu me fais chier. Putain, j’en peux plus. Va te faire foutre, bordel de merde ! Arrête de me faire chier, sérieux.
