HOW TO CONJUGATE “LE PASSÉ COMPOSÉ W/ AVOIR”
The PASSÉ COMPOSÉ (or compound past) is the most common past tense used to mention events that took place in the past (narrative mode for those of you who know a little bit about linguistics).
Let’s look into how to form this tricky tense! As its name indicates it, it is a compound tense, made of two elements! So whenever you think passé composé, think two! A pair! A couple! Lovebirds! Whatever helps you remember!
1. HOW TO FORM THE PASSÉ COMPOSÉ WITH “AVOIR”
In most cases, verbs conjugated in the passé composé are going to be made of:
AVOIR IN THE PRESENT TENSE + THE PAST PARTICIPLE OF THE CONJUGATED VERB
