HIGH SEWING AND CLOTHING
Salut tout le monde! How’s your motivation to learn French going? Still determined I hope! Well over the next two weeks we’re going to talk a lot about French fashion and shopping since starting this Sunday, January 25th, it is Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris, LA SEMAINE DE LA MODE. By the way, we actually say FASHION WEEK a lot in France, and tend to snob the French “semaine de la mode”.
Anyway, what matters to us here is that it is a great opportunity for you guys to learn more about shopping in the French capital, and to enrich your vocabulary related to clothing and fashion.
The French are known for their “je ne sais quoi”, and that applies to the way they dress as well. French women in particularly are said to be naturally elegant. So last time I went home, I was kind of on the lookout for what makes French people’s style stand out. I think the key is that they keep it simple and comfortable too a lot of the time.
Personally, I’ve always been amazed at how little some women can wear when going out to an event in the middle of winter, just to be sexy and attract men’s looks. Damn, I’m up for catching a guy, but not a pneumonia. So to go out, les filles, how about you pick a nice little dress, it can even have sleeves, add a well cut jacket, and wear boots if it’s cold. Guys, LES GARCONS, it’s easier for you. Black pants and shoes, a shirt with one or two buttons undone at the top, a jacket, and you’re ready to go. If it’s summer time, why don’t you all drop the jacket, shorten the sleeves, and girls, wear open shoes, with heels obviously to up the level of sexiness a tad.
QUELQUES MOTS POUR VOUS! A few words for you!
